Bookings are scheduled appointments for jobs, designed to optimize your team's efficiency and provide clear schedules for customers.

Understand bookings

Bookings are specific, scheduled instances of jobs, optimized for efficient execution. They help you:

Optimize scheduling based on factors like travel distances for your team, distances from other orders, and customer preferences.

Improve efficiency by planning job locations to suggest the perfect time slot, unlocking more billable hours.

Provide clarity to customers who can see their upcoming bookings through the customer portal.

Bookings are intrinsically linked to jobs, representing the planned execution of work at a particular time and place.

Navigate to Bookings

  • Click Bookings in the left sidebar menu. This section is indicated by a calendar icon.

Overview of booking management

While specific steps for creating, confirming, or canceling bookings are managed within the Bookings section, the platform provides context for these actions:

  • Creating a booking involves scheduling a job using a booking planner that optimizes driving time and considers various factors to suggest the best slot. Customer-submitted booking time preferences are clearly displayed and influence the scheduling process to help align with their availability. All booking times are now displayed consistently, and all-day bookings are clearly marked as such, avoiding the previous 00:00-23:59 time range. During creation or editing, the process for assigning specific assignees (e.g., individual technicians or teams) has been simplified, offering a more streamlined selection experience to ensure the right resources are allocated to the job. The booking summary now only displays the assignee name, and no longer a separate performing organization name.

  • Confirming a booking may involve actions from partners or customers, as indicated by dashboard metrics like Waiting for partner and Waiting for customer.

  • Canceling a booking would typically be an action available within the Bookings section for existing scheduled appointments.

  • Rescheduling a booking has been enhanced, offering more flexible options to adjust times and dates while considering resource availability and customer preferences.

  • Unscheduled orders are filtered to show only those associated with accepted actor representatives.

Bookings created or confirmed through workflow steps are seamlessly integrated into this interface. These bookings will display additional details, including a Comment field and the Comment Author, providing more context from the workflow process. When a booking is reopened, customer-submitted booking preferences are now correctly refreshed, ensuring you always see the most up-to-date information.
