Add dispatch steps to a workflow
Last updated: July 28, 2026
Dispatch steps automate or streamline the assignment of jobs to installers or teams based on predefined criteria.
Add a dispatch step
- Navigate to your workflow management settings.
- Select the workflow you wish to modify.
- Add a new step to the workflow.
- Choose Dispatch as the step type.
Configure dispatch options
- Define the assignment method, such as automatic assignment or manual selection.
- Set criteria for dispatch, including job type, location, or required skills. Dispatch candidates are now ranked by road driving time, and the estimated driving duration is displayed in the dispatch list.
- Configure notifications to alert relevant parties when a job is dispatched.
- Workflow steps for dispatched actors are now correctly injected before the order is accepted.
- The system now tracks which organization dispatched an actor representative.
- When dispatching to multiple installers, the dispatch 'done' view will now display all assigned installers.
- The system now accurately determines and displays available actions for dispatch steps, ensuring correct functionality and user experience. Additionally, clients can now see the assigned installer's information on dispatch steps.
- When a dispatching step is skipped, the steps previously assigned to the dispatched actor are now reassigned back to the original actor.
- The installer list is now visible in a read-only preview on upcoming dispatch steps within the dispatch workflow step.
- When a dispatch step is cancelled or redispatched, the status of the actor representative changes. An actor representative's status becomes 'Cancelled' if the dispatch step is cancelled before the representative accepts the job. If the representative has already accepted the job and the dispatch step is then cancelled or redispatched, their status becomes 'Aborted'.
