Customize your order page layout
The order page is built from panels you open, reorder and resize. Your arrangement is saved in your browser and applies to every order you open on that device.
Panels are a desktop feature. On a phone or a narrow window, panels open one at a time as a drawer and cannot be reordered or resized.
The panels
A toolbar above the page holds one chip per panel. Select a chip to open that panel, and select it again to close it.
| Chip | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Workflow | The order’s steps. Selecting a step opens a Step panel beside it. |
| Description | The order description. |
| Offers | The order’s offers. |
| Chats | Conversations on the order. |
| Notes | Notes on the order. |
Three more panels sit behind the More button at the end of the toolbar: Notifications, Background events and Log. The menu stays open so you can switch several on at once. Notifications and Background events are only available if your role can see notifications.
Workflow is the only panel open by default.
Details is not a panel. It is a fixed column on the right of the page holding the client, the address, the organisations on the order and where the order came from. It has no chip and it never closes. What it shows depends on your role on the order.
Reorder panels
The toolbar is split by a divider: chips to its left open panels on the left of the page, chips to its right open panels on the right.
- Drag a chip along the toolbar.
- Drop it in a new position, or across the divider to move its panel to the other side.
The panel moves to match. Step has no chip of its own; it always follows Workflow.
Resize panels
Each panel has a resize handle on its inner edge, and so does the Details column.
- Point at the edge between two panels. The cursor changes and a hint reads Drag to resize. Double-click to reset.
- Drag the edge sideways.
- Release to set the width.
Double-click the handle to return that one panel to its default width.
Every panel has its own minimum and maximum width, so panels stop rather than shrink past the point where their contents are readable. Until you resize a panel yourself, its default width follows the width of your window: panels are narrower on a smaller screen so more of them fit before the row starts to scroll.
When open panels are wider than the page, the row scrolls sideways. Selecting a panel that is partly out of view scrolls it fully into view.
Reset the layout
- Select the Reset layout button at the end of the toolbar.
This clears your panel positions and widths and closes every panel except Workflow.
