Generate a QR code for a webform

Every publicly shared webform has a QR code. Scanning it opens the public webform, so a client can submit an order without you sending them a link. Print it, or show it on a screen.

Turn on public sharing first

The QR code only exists for a form with a public URL.

  1. Select Workflows in the sidebar.
  2. Open the workflow the form belongs to, then select the Webforms tab.
  3. Open the form, turn on Sharable in the settings, and select Save.

Without Sharable, the Share action is not in the form’s menu, and the QR tab reads This webform isn’t set up for public sharing yet.

Get the QR code

  1. Go back to the Webforms tab.
  2. Open the actions menu on the form’s row and select Share.
  3. The Share webform dialog shows the public URL, a Copy button for it, and the QR code below.
  4. Select Download to save the code as an SVG file.

From the create orders page

The Create order button opens the same code beside the other ways to send orders.

  1. Select Create order.
  2. Select the form you want.
  3. Open the QR tab.
  4. Select Download to save the code, or copy the URL shown under it.

The tabs along the top, QR included, show on a wide screen. On a narrow one the page opens the manual order form instead.

What the code points to

The code holds the form’s public URL. That URL carries a token for the form, not its name, and anyone who scans it fills in the form without signing in. Each submission creates an order on the form’s workflow, assigned to its default assignee.
