Forward an order
Forward an order when another organization should take over the work, or part of it. You forward to an organization, not to a person. Forward order appears in the order’s actions menu only on orders your organization does not own, and only if you are an actor on the order’s workflow.
Transfer the whole order
- Open the order and select Forward order. The Forward order/steps dialog opens.
- Select Transfer order ownership.
- In Partner name, keep the suggested name or type your own. The name is applied to the new actor on the workflow and to the titles of the two dispatch steps that forwarding adds.
- Select the receiving organization from the list. An organization that already holds a place on the order is listed but cannot be selected.
- Select Confirm.
Every step that is still open moves to the organization you forwarded to. Steps you already finished stay with you, so you keep your history.
Delegate individual steps
- Open the order and select Forward order.
- Select Delegate steps.
- Under Click on steps to delegate, select the steps to hand over. Every unfinished step assigned to you is selected to start with.
- Select Next.
- In Partner name, keep the suggested name or type your own, then select the receiving organization.
- Select Delegate.
Only the steps you selected move to the other organization. The rest stay with you, and so does ownership of the order.
Who you can forward to
You can forward to a sub-organization of your own organization, or to an organization you have a partnership with.
Only an actor on the order’s workflow can forward it. If you are not one, the dialog shows You can’t forward this order.
Payouts
If you are the main installer on the order and the workflow contains a payment step, the dialog shows You receive payouts for this order. Payouts continue to come to you unless you turn on Forward payouts to the target organisation.
What happens next
Forwarding adds a dispatch step and a confirmation step in front of the order’s current step. You and the receiving organization both see them, and the order waits there until the receiving organization accepts.
